In just two years I underwent eight surgeries after a hip replacement that left me poisoned and extremely sick. During that difficult time, our police department provided vital support, compassion, and understanding. We wanted to create a program to assist officers facing hardships or quietly struggling behind the badge. From our experience, we appreciate how much outside stressors can erode officers’ physical and mental well‑being. We wanted to fill gaps in departmental assistance by offering additional, practical support shaped and tailored directly by officers themselves.
